1978 original door equipment
These doors are usually the standard 16-foot double or 8 or 9-foot single, sized for the openers and torsion springs sold at the time, which were lighter-duty than what's made now. After four decades in a cold moderate climate, the steel skin has usually outlasted the springs and rollers, but the panel itself often shows its age first: a slight bow along the bottom section, seams that don't sit flush anymore, or a door that feels heavier to lift by hand than it should.
